The rzr happened for most. I have been working double time to make a bunch of small jobs equal a living and get out of debt. I sold all the sport atvs and now have scramblers only which I have no time to ride. I have even less time to get on the internet these days.

It is sad for sure we still ride 2 or 3 times a year mostly camping but we did not even make a dune trip this year. The oil field in Wyoming has all but stopped producing the last few years because the price of oil is so low, so their are thousands of out of work roughnecks that are now competing with us full time contractors for our work. Making a living is tough. When we do go camping their are a few 4x4 atvs no sport atvs and 100's of side by sides blasting down the trails. I tell you it hardly feels safe.on an atv anymore on public trails.

Here in Texas our riding weather is just about to start again.  So maybe I'll post some more.

Yeah, the death of the ATV as we know it. Just recieved
the yearly brochured propoganda from Polaris. 65% sleds,
34.5% SXS's, and a meager .5% atv's.....Just a very short
few years ago It was 55% sleds 40% atv's and just 5% for
the SXS's.

Yeah Leo, I feel your pain. Oil drives the world, but also
causes it to crash around our heads. The opposite was
what killed me. Just about over a year ago, I was eating
almost a hundred bucks a week just to keep fuel in the
truck. Always a catch-22. Maybe my retirement came
at the right time ??

Just priority and interest changes for me. 690's gone, work is busy, and we've got a daughter now. I've been on one riding trip this year. Other than that, I've put more miles on my 850 sweeping the lawn. Haha

Yes sir having children changes every single aspect of your life. nothing is the same as it was. All for the better though, even the tough stuff like losing sleep and caring for another human being, is tough but satisfying.

Yeah mine just sets in the shed next to 2 Chinese atvs and a 65 vw dune buggy that I haven't worked on in a few years.  I bought 1.5 acres of trees 3.5 hours north of my home as a camping destination.  Right now it is 100% wooded but I am hoping to have electricity and a driveway on it by mid next summer.  We do a bunch of camping now and don't really mess with any of my toys.  I was trying to sell my green one but I wont give it away so it sits in the shop.

I hadn't rode in almost 3 years till this last Saturday. Since I blew out my knee I have had 3 surgeries and spent countless hours in rehab. I'm a lot better now and can walk without a full limp and slightly run but I wasn't in any shape to be doing much for at least a year and a half. my bike just got put back together and its way more modded than it ever was before . I just need to fix a few small things and get the bugs tweaked out. I understand most about the SXS's We are actually thinking about selling everything off and buying a Pioneer 1000 5 seater in the next year or so. I would like 1 for utility but also for fun and something that we can fit my daughter and wife in comfortably with room for future kits if possible . I would like to run 1 or 2 more races in c-class before I sell my quad though , just to see if I still got it lol

Well it hasn't helped any that Ive been tinkering with an old Suzuki street bike allot and riding it around in the evenings... instead of messing with the quads.

I moved on to Honda's now!

As in TRX90's that is!  lol   I went a lil overboard at one time I had 6 of these lil bastards lol (few suzukis in that count tho)

I'm building a TRX90 with a Piranha 140cc pit bike engine in it, so Its going from around 4whp to around 15whp from what I've read anyway! lol  That'll be fun!

Same here, 2 kids and owning a business now, so not as much time to play and no time for the internet!

Glad everyone else is well!  [smile]

Im looking at replacing the drivers side floor pan in my buggy this weekend and might weld on the upper motor mount in my second predator frame so I can start piecing that together.  Need to find a cheap stem for it.

I'll need to get my ass back on the hybrid Outlaw build.
I only need to get the rear shock towers aligned and
welded in. Sure would make it easier on the old legs
resetting targets on the rifle range. Hmmmmnnnnn !!
And those berms look tempting.....LOL

I got my floor pan in place and test fitted the VW body.  I am not good to go to weld it all in solid and move forward on this project.

This one was built so "Dad" could tag along with the boyz!  lol   They won't be touching this for some years yet!  I only rode it a little bit to shake some bugs out and its a handful even tho it runs like shit yet.   I can't wait to get some time to rejet it!  Problem is, my boys see it on the weekend and they both want rides then, so I don't get much wrench time, but thats ok!   I'm hoping to get it dialed in before it gets too damn cold here…..

Nick was planning on dropping his 125cc pit bike engine into a TRX90, so maybe we can have a little race someday!   I wanted to buy the 160cc, but guys claim they aren't reliable.

sorry guys . I haven't been around for awhile. I was working offshore of Galveston texas for about the last year . my job had me flying home every 20 to 30 days depanding on crew changes and bullshit that comes along with finding a replacement guy for my job. anyway everytime I have been home I tried to come on here to keep the site active , unfortunately most of my posts have been negative reviews of my builds. Sorry guys . my time is limited due to my job and most of my time is spent riding and trying to repair my 6 atvs . it is just a shame our country has become so depressed that our atv industry is killed . I don't think utvs are to blame . I think its American economy.
I will still be around here . I just took the long trip home , I just returned the atlantic surveyor home from texas to new jersey . I will be home all winter . I will be rebuilding my 450 outlaw from the ground up . All summer I have been gathering parts . The 450 is going to be a 540 . I will be here posting from time to time, posting praise and discontent .. haha

Ya' always have to take the good with the bad. Better
to bring even the bad news to the front. Lets people
not jump in so blindly when making a buy. I know I
have been scorched more then I'd like to tell. Going
thru a Rifle Scope issue presently, with a top of the
line company. Sure as hell is'nt giving me what they
advertise. Bad part about this deal is, the scope is
made in the USA !!  Same ol'.....Same ol'

Congrats again Nick! With my bachelor finished, I'm going to have more time to tinker with the quads. Other Hobbies I've been taking up the majority of my free time but this is riding season for me. Probably selling the scrambler and investing in a 4x4. It's good to hear that everybody's still doing okay . Except kmak, I haven't heard from him . I think most of our traffic has been lost to the outlaw Facebook site. I must admit, I'm on there more frequently

Its happens from time to time, Gen3usA goes through the same pains, it's always morphing from one hobby to the next, and after a bit it becomes a hang out for buddies. The knowledge is still there, but people get busy.

toys.jpg I got a late start, was a 2 wheeler until 2010.
Finally got them all out and running at the same time,  at least for a couple hours..

Took the Bucket/Plow off the Sportsman, 13 year old grandson, hit a rock under the leaves and drove it into a tree. He got a little banged up, but physics and inertia are kinder to 60 lb bodies than mind.. I Only took minor attitude from the ladies.. The Sportsman however, A-Arm, Axle, and a bunch of plastic replacement and welding, and I'm almost back to 100%, decided to see why the headlights weren't working, and managed to get a bad connection, and lost power to everything for a while..

I spend most of my spare time turning my crawlspace into a walkout workshop.
Rototiller the clay, load the Sportsman Bucket ( Best Wheelbarrow ever, Crappy BobCat ), Dump onto the next Jump.

Almost done on that for now, so will be back to trail/jump building like this one[wink]
jumps.jpg  Later!

What I've been doing....Working on this project to get
out to 1000 yards. I will most assuredly need to get back
to my custom auto Outlaw build because walking back and
forth on a 1000 yard range would suck.

Hey guys, ive never posted on here much but id like to keep it alive as much as you guys. Ive still got 2 predators i need to fix and finish. One being a nicholas racing quad, which ive recently found a way to possibly contact him. Wrecked my outlaw a couple months ago and broke the front plastic all to hell. So if anyone has salvageable 08 plastics, im in the market. Im also working on a long range gun. May even go work on the quads today. Later fellas.

Off topic perhaps, but anyway.

When the sportsman crashed it broke the a arm ( snapped from the front, the rear bent 45%) and pushed the front tire into the body/frame ( front foot peg area ).
The front bumper was completely broken with many small pieces, a new one was ~$100 so I replace it.

The Front Tub storage area was destroyed, but was $250.
The main cowl around the fuel tank, was broken and like $450.

Went to Harbor Freight and picked up a soldering iron type Plastic welder and the hot gun type plastic welder, and welding rods for ~$80 total..

It worked great, the main cowl was mostly a split, that was easy, added screen mesh, seems good, looks ok..
The Tub was like 20 pieces that I welded all back together, then added some filler for the missing bits..
The headlight post broke off, found the top piece in the leaves, using other plastic pieces was able to rebuild it and connected great.

I mostly use the soldering iron type in a stitching pattern, the heat gun one will liquefy a large area quickly .
Just need something heat proof that wont stick to the molten plastic to adjust and smooth the soft pieces..

Seems like a good investment, saved me a ton.. Just make sure you run the fan on the heatgun with the heat off to allow it to cool, or it cooks the unit..
