Hey guy. Got a question.. a little late to be asking as my tires showed up yesterday. And looking at them is what got me asking. So the front of my IRS takes a 21x7 R10. The rear is a 20x10 R9. Looking at the bike the front seems to really over whelm the rears, as in size. I wanted to even out the overall hight of the tires and I like the 20s in th rear... So, I order some CTS Ambush... full set. 20x10 rear and 20x6 front. The front tire are now so tinny I've took my problem and reversed it. I measures, the rear overall is a 20'' stance.. the front measures around 18''. why? it says 20x6 R10. Are front tire measurements different than rear?

It kinda depends on the brand of tire some measure small some measure big. For the most part 20 inch fronts are for mx and lowering the machine and so they do measure small.

each brand measures differently. same goes with truck/ car tires. i have different sets of 35" tires. one that measures 34.25" and another that measures 36.5" inflated (when they were new)

I am aware of the overall diameter vierance between brands but. 18" on a 20" tire. Damn. Wonder what that 18s look like. :stupid:
Anyway... Anyone interested in a brand new pair of CTS Ambush fronts? There 20"! :haha:

For trail riding I would never go with a smaller front tire. I actually run 22 in the front to help pop over rocks. No complaints from me.
For baja and desert they run 23 front 22 rear. For mx 20 front 18 rear. And xc 21 20
Ud be entering a whole new world of trouble downsizing tires that much especially trying to fly over rocks.
