sons pred 90 had weak, intermitent spark, so I found on ebay a new stator and high perf (30k volts) ignition coil. put in new stator, set the gap at .020 (manual says .020-.040), NO spark. Put old coil back in with new stator, STILL no spark. started raining so i'm inside scratching my head. What am I missing??? Thank you in advance, Ken

Update: Got the little bugger running. After testing the stator and ignition coil, I found the culprit... Tethered kill switch. Electrical is seriously NOT my strong suit.

Oh I wouldn't feel too bad about it.  So far I've forgotten that my aftermarket tether was unhooked twice and dang near pulled out my hair trying to figure out what the problem was.  Stuff happens.
