It has a 13.5/1 110 octane CT national big bore engine along with a ton of aftermarket upgrades. Althought, I tried to keep it as stock looking (sleeper effect) as I could. I built it for local drag racing and bragging rights among friends. You know how that goes. Its a bit too much for everyday trail riding and since I recently sold my slightly modded z400, I needed a new woods bike. That's where my new Outlaw 525 IRS comes into play.







I do occasionally trail ride the ole 2-smoker, but it is a handful

I like the old LTR. Keep a eye on the swing arm, they love to crack! I love the sleeper look. Nice build!!!!

thanks, and yea I know all about the swingarm probs. I used to have a 86 Lt and I broke the swingarm, then the clutch basket came apart and poked holes in the bottom end shortly after. The 85-86 models mainly had the swingarm issues. This 87 swingarm is very similar to the ones they use on z400's. I chose '87 because of the better swingarm design, and it was 1st year for powervalve and reeds that were borrowed from the quadzilla. 88-92 Suzuki designed smaller reeds just for the 250.


to go along with the sleeper effect, I powdercoated lightweight DWT wheels gold to look like the factory steel's. I've also got a somewhat quieter silencer to slip on it for woods and then a all out drag silencer for business. Im running a PWK 41.5 carb on it. And to help solve the clutch issues I had on my previous LT, Im running a billet basket on this one.

Yup. 87 is the year to have for sure.after along stretcher different bikes I finally bought another quad racer. I loved that it was nostalgic, but it couldn't hold its own against the new 4 strokes in stock form. still a fun bike though

Those old 250's are fun.  You need to watch yourself or you'll end up having your ass handed to you and cant figure out why.  [smile]
