Didn't know what to label this as.
Has anyone tried mounting the exhaust tabs on the inside of the rear exhaust mounts?
Looks like there may be some room. This would cite the header being short problem?

i thought about that at one point in time but it seems like it would not go for some reason. i may have been just too lazy to pull out my extension clamp and try it, it was a while ago.

Well it doesn't work. Haha. Since I just got my header today I said I might as well try. Turns out ud need a 1/4 in or a little less to get it in there. If they made the exhaust(not the piping) a half inch less it would fit no problem. The problem is the slanted frame tube not letting it go in any further.

Now u understand why your wife always says "that extra half inch sure would make a difference!" [smile].

That hmf is a pain to seal cuz the idiots slotted it so deep n then shorted us on pipe.

Yup, we had to add about 3/4" to my son's pipe to make the slip on work.

Honestly it would have been perfect if it could fit on the other side of where its supposed to mount. If someone wanted to cut the tabs off and reweld them it would be fine.

I have that issue also. I tried to mount the comp. pipe on the other side but it then was too long at the header. I think I am going to try and align the two have them butt up nicely and try and install them as a composite unit. I don't have an exhaust leak but I am not really happy with how it is either. I may try something if that doesn't work but it will be a bit before I get back home.
