I know Ive seen this on here somewhere, but what is the best muffler packing material to use?  I'm repacking my CT muffler and I don't mind spending a little extra money to do better now than to have to do it again sooner...

Also, does some materials quiet more than others?  And do some last longer than others?

Thanks

I really never found a fleece type packing that was
better then the other. On the other hand, I bought
some Race Tech rope packing that caused me a
headache on my WB E-Series. When the stuff broke
down the glass strands would pack into the discs
and not blow out. I pulled the discs and found a
black birds nest. No more scratching my head to
figure out why I was down on power, and no more
Race Tech.

The last batch of packing I got was from RMATV. I
believe it's the same stuff Leo mentioned. Looked
just like the original WB packing.

I've had good luck with the Lexx packing as well.  It has been in my Lexx MXe pipe on my 400 for several seasons and is just now starting to need repacking.  I also had a White Bros. E-Series and that thing ate packing no matter what I used.  Whether it was the original packing, FMF, or yarn style, it still burned out packing quicker than any other pipe I've owned.
