Computer died/fried. Lost everything. Good thing I keep
most drawings and notes on paper.....Just another reason
why Beer is brewed !!

Trying a few of the newer browsers to see which one will
get the bulk of my use. So far, Google Chrome seems to
work well for most sites I lost bookmarks of, but loads
ProRiders really slow. Will try a newer version of Firefox
tomorrow then rebuild my email program. Right now Im
just waiting on the downloads, since all my backups
don't seem to want to unspool on all the new configs.

And that's why I have an external hard drive with EVERYTHING backed up on it and NOT connected to the computer unless I'm copying info.

I learned this the hard way too.

I'm also a fan of Chrome but I haven't tried the others recently.  It isn't broke...

Yeah, this electronic age can be the best but then the worst in a matter of seconds.

I do have a second drive and configured to boot up
if the main drive dies....Also learned that some time
ago. Problem is; the back up drive for some reason
will not boot to the new Intel mother board. I can
however let it spin up and read the old files and pull
off what I need, but some of these files are no longer
viable with the new stuff. Kind of like buying a 525
Outlaw and then installing a lawn mower motor...LOL
Also the old drive runs Win2000Pro. The new software
is the last edition of XP Pro with service pack 3.
I was seriously looking at Win7, but with 1.5 gig processor
and 768 megs of ram, XP seems to run pretty good so far
with my older engineering software.....Downloaded the
latest version of FireFox for XP-Pro SP3. I will have to say,
it does load ProRiders quicker then Chrome. What I'm
seeing is, Chrome seems to be stalling on the sites photo
bucket pics on launch......Still a bunch of playing around
to do and reloading, but at least the barn has a roof back
on it, so to speak.

Now where the hell was I before rudely interrupted......LOL

I got a MAC because of all the PC issues I had.  Can't complain so far.  PC issues piss me off beyond belief because I can't fix most of them and then the idiots that fix the computers act like "oh you can reload all your crap back on here real easily!"  Ya, BS!

We use something called dropbox at work, its an online backup with the ability to share files with other users. I do side jobs sometimes and its what I use instead of emailing big files.

Well, things are sort of back to normal. About the
only main issue is some video driver conflicts for
the older software. I'll figure a work around.

Other then that, the stress levels are much lower....LOL

Was that after a 6 pack? If so the stress levels may be back to high without some cold ones if so reapply every 30 minutes to an hour.

Well, if it was only a 6 pack problem, then stress levels surely couldn't have been too high. LOL!![party0008]

Yeah, looks like a liquid lunch today. Really not happy
with the web browsers. I'll be doing some downloads
and configuring. I always like my old Netscape browsers
and the way the toolbars and interface was set up.
Just no longer supported in some areas I need to get to.
I found a Netscape Skin Interface that is an add on for
FireFox, so I will see what that will do for me.
