So I picked up a copy of Dirt Wheels Magazine, and they had some kind of concept idea of Can-Am building a 3 wheel drive that's like an off road version of their Spyder.  Supposedly if they have 3 wheels they are considered motorcyles and can be ridden on the street.  They suggested using the front end from the Renegade and designing a gearbox to run the rear tire.
So... I got to thinking... why not just design a rear swingarm for one or the old scramblers  (400/500) and use a single wheel back there and Viola we would have a 3 wheel drive ON/OFF road machine... for cheap.  Now figuring out how to tag and inspect it might be another thing all together, but I'll bet Fuj could design the rear assembly...

I actually did that with a drag swinger I built for my
son's FJ1200. It mocked up real nice. If I would have
had a few more beers, I would have had a chain on
it....LOL.....When I went out in the garage the next
day (and sober) I said to myself.....What the hell was
I thinking !!

I know it wouldn't be as good off road as a 4x4... but it would be a cheap way to have something unique to ride on the street and take it off road too.
