Im sure this has been asked before but i cant find it. Quad has a rath intake and hmf slip on. Starts good but when you stab throttle huge bog and backfires like crazy. 165 main stock clip position stock a/f screw turns. Is 165 too big? and what is an easy way to adjust a/f screw seeing as its inder the carb itself. What should i start with? Thanks again.

Two turns out of a/f screw. ( remove plug ) Get a carb tool or use a flat blade bit and come up with a suitable drive/ wrench to adjust from there.   I would If your stock jet was the factory 138 I would start with a 155 main and work your way up or down from there. Once you get that you can work on the mid range needle adjustment.  Then we can work on the stab bog if it is still there.

Fastest  way to jet close is with one of these.  http://www.wide-band.com/product-p/apsx_d2.htm

You might even want to try starting with a 148 main.   165 is ridiculous for what the Rath intake gives you; which is basically nothing over the stock intake.  Nothing against Rath, just no room to work with.  Considering you also have a HMF slip on, I'd try The 148 or 155 and see what happens.

I used the dynojet kit for my 08 mxr. Ran great! Seems not a lot of people like dynojet though...

I ran dyno on my predator and worked fine. Probably go with them for my mxr.

Nothing wrong with dyno jets just be aware that for the fcr carb they send you a cup adapter and short jets usually. The Keihin jets are the full size one piece jets just a few jets from jetsrus will be much cheaper than a kit. I also recommend the stock needle on the fcr.
