Hi new to forum was told to come here from KTM ATV HQ. New to polaris and the outlaw last quad was a 06 banshee.

What I have.
2007 outlaw 525 IRS
All stock other then the mods I am about to do or have got ready for it.

Picked up uni air filter
Boysen quick shot 2
Ehs air box lid
52ft elevation

Looking to get a hmf slip on next for the quad.

Was told told not to get a jet kit and just change a few things and bump up the main jet?

Also I am in Baltimore Maryland area if anyones close and wants to ride and I tried looking for a now to on valve adjustment but only found info on a feeler gauge mod to fit it.

Thanks

hello and welcome to the site.

i agree you can skip the jet kit. buy a few main jets and adjust the clip on the needle, adjust the a/f screw. with the mods you listed i would try a 160 to 165 main jet, drop the clip on the needle one position lower from the top or blunt end of the needle and turn the a/f screw out one full turn.

here is the valve adjustment thread.

much appreciated

also Leo you said turn the air/fuel screw out 1 turn if that from all the way in or 1 added to factory mine was at 1.5 turns when I cleaned he carb the day I got the quad also the day I ruined my diaphragm..

and since i have the new air box lid in now and will put in the quick shot 2 tomorrow but no exhaust yet. Should I run the new air box tats open or use the factory until i get the slip on?

I would try the ehs with ur stock setup now and see if it makes a difference. If it bogs then wait till u get the exhaust. If it doesn't then ur good. It can't hurt to try it. Let me know what ur results are so I know if it makes a difference. I just got mine in the mail.

if you havent already bought hmf id look into yoshimura RS-5 i just put one on mine and it took me about an hour and sounds GREAT, sometimes from what i have read here and other places is HMF could have fitment issue the pipe that connects to header can be too short...  welcome i just joined here about 2 weeks ago

I don't think we have any dyno results on the yoshi but so far everyone who has one really likes them.
Make sure you buy it for an IRS tho cause the bends are different.

The hmf is a tad short. What can be done if you have access to a welder is cut off a little bit of the header pipe at the flange and expand it a tiny bit. Then weld the flange to the header. That's also a leak spot and is known to cause popping. This will push the header back enough to seal the hole at the slip joint.
Or.....
Just wrap up the header.

Good to know my only welder is a stick welder so not the best for that lol.

You won't be disappointed with the Yoshi for sure. I run one on my Outlaw and my KTM and really like the sound and performance.

So took the quad out today with the EHS air box lid on was getting a lot of backfire think it was to much air for the stock jetting.

Other then that bike ran pretty good until I flipped it over lol o and when the shifter fell off....

So I'm going to need new front plastics if anyone knows cheapest place to get them from.

the orange are sold and gone a bit ago. amazon has the maier plastics for about $240 shipped.

try going up a few jet sizes if you have a 150 go to a 155 and drop the clip on the needle one notch.

oh yeah and tighten your shifter...[fighting0024][fighting0072][fighting0092]

i think those are the colors on the different models. like 2007 had white or black. yes the maiers are hard to fit, but they do fit. they also are tough as could be and hardly ever break in a wreck. i think they used to have a lifetime warranty on them and would replace them if they broke. they still may.

I looked up the maier plastics cheapest I found the front fender was 290 plus another 40-60 for the hood. Not sure if they would mount into the other factory holes in the tank and sides either. A full set of maier plastics would break the bank too.

Crappy situation
